Little 5 Points Green Up with Councilmember Kwanza Halls' office.

Before  and After!

On Saturday, May 8th, a great group of volunteers helped do a major clean up of a this storm drain in Little 5 Points.  When litter like this flows into the storm drains, it ends up in the rivers and then the oceans.  Thanks to Black Box ATL, Sevananda, Aurora Coffee, Charis Books and 7 Stages for their support of the clean up.

Won't You Be My Sustainable Neighbor?

"GreenPlate believes you can give a community a recycling bin, or you can teach them how to be green."

Atlanta, Georgia - "GreenUP Your Clean-Up" program launched with Atlanta City Council Member Kwanza Hall of District 2.  These community clean-ups recycle the waste gathered, teach communities about how to recycle in their area, and ensure best safety practices are being applied.

The cleanup projects result in "living documentation" of tools, resources, tips, training kits, and trained GreenUP Ambassadors to help other neighborhoods follow suit.

GreenPlate was excited to initiate the first GreenCell community with the Castleberry Hill Art District in Atlanta, GA. We are selecting Castleberry Hill (www.castleberryhill.org) for its progressive, diverse community and its hallmark as a destination in Atlanta. Neighborhood leadership has been primed and committed to be Atlanta’s first GreenCell.

Castleberry Hill sees this opportunity as a way to build community cohesiveness and “spirit”, promote the existing events and have a cleaner and safer neighborhood. We see it as a way to reduce a community's environmental impact and to nurture green growth one GreenCell at a time.
