GreenPlate, Inc. welcomes City of Atlanta Recycling Coordinator as GreenPlate's newest Board Member.

Mary Harrington has nearly 20 years of experience working on waste reduction and recycling projects at the state and local level. At the local level she helped develop and manage curbside recycling programs,
composting projects, sustainable building initiatives, and educational outreach programs.

At the state level, she reviewed Solid Waste Management Plans, provided technical assistance to local governments, and facilitated information exchange on various waste reduction and recycling topics. Her role will be to promote waste reduction, recommend new recycling initiatives and implement existing waste reduction and recycling programs, educate City employees and the general public about recycling programs and opportunities. She acts as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies on recycling issues to ensure responsiveness to problems and concerns, prepare grant proposals and maintain records on the City’s recycling programs.

Mary has a Bachelors degree from Miami of Ohio and a Masters degree from The Evergreen State College in Washington State.
