Restaurants
On March 27th at 8:30 p.m., Atlanta's skyline will be going dark. Welcome to Earth Hour Atlanta 2010! The annual global Earth Hour event is organized by the World Wildlife Fund to raise awareness about Global Climate Change. In 2009, more than 300 U.S. cities joined the Earth Hour movement. This year we want to make Atlanta a top participant and grow involvement. This is the third year for Atlanta and it is an easy, fun way for people to get involved and make a difference.
Households, businesses and restaurants are being asked to turn off the lights for one hour as a call for action on climate change. Restaurants are being asked to participate in the Earth Hour Dine Out - Check out The 10 Steps for Sustainability for Resaturants.
Two Steps:
1) Take the pledge at: https://www.myearthhour.org/home
2) Contact us directly with your restaurant name and a manager’s name/email. We will add you to our ‘Pledged Atlanta Restaurants’ list.
What’s in it for you?
- Fun For Your Guests: Who doesn’t want to eat by candlelight and take part in the excitement?
- Sustainable Marketing Opportunity: We will provide you with professional collateral to post on your announcement boards, on menus and your website to discuss your restaurant’s commitment to Earth Hour.
- Warm Fuzzy: Sometimes it’s just good to do the right thing. This won’t cost you a dime and Mother Nature will thank you.
Then What?
- We will contact you leading up to the event day and provide marketing collateral and event ideas.
- We will be providing the dine-out restaurant participant list to several local newspapers, blogs and on our website for mass distribution.
- Do more! Check out the Top Ten Sustainable Practices for restaurants. GreenPlate can help you achieve these goals. Contact us to learn how we can help. info@greenplate.org
